Ghanaian winger Douglas Owusu haunts former club Radnik with match-winning goal for Red Star

Ghanaian youngster Douglas Owusu continued his bright start to life at Red Star Belgrade by scoring his second goal for the club in a hard-fought comeback victory over his former side, FK Radnik Surdulica, on Sunday afternoon.

Owusu proved decisive in the encounter, netting the winning goal just before halftime after latching onto a well-weighted pass from Bosnia international Rade Krunic.

The Ghanaian forward showed composure to finish off the move, handing the hosts a crucial lead heading into the break.

The visitors had drawn first blood in the 23rd minute under fortunate circumstances when Slovenian midfielder Timi Elsnik inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to give Radnik an early advantage.

However, Red Star responded strongly, with Serbian forward Aleksandar Katai restoring parity in the 36th minute with a well-taken effort.

Owusu’s strike moments later completed the turnaround, ensuring Dejan Stankovic's men went into the second half with momentum and control.

The match also featured two other Ghanaian players, as Sadick Abubakar and Emmanuel Quarshie both made appearances for Radnik Surdulica, putting in solid shifts despite ending on the losing side.

Owusu, who joined Red Star from Radnik during the January transfer window, is steadily growing in confidence and influence.

His latest goal against his former club highlights his sharp attacking instincts and ability to deliver in key moments.

With two goals already to his name for the Serbian giants after eight games, the Ghanaian youngster is quickly establishing himself as one to watch in the Super Liga.
