President John Dramani Mahama has lauded the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, for his foresight and leadership in conceptualising and nurturing the Kwahu Business Forum into a formidable platform for economic dialogue and private sector engagement.

Speaking at the Kwahu Business Forum 2026, the President described the initiative as a strategic intervention that has grown to become a key meeting point for entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers, driving conversations around Ghana’s economic transformation.

Mahama credited Debrah for not only conceiving the idea but also ensuring its sustained development into a nationally recognised hub for business innovation and partnerships.

Looking ahead, the President revealed ambitious plans to scale up the Forum’s impact through the establishment of a permanent convention, conference, and exhibition centre. The project, he noted, will be undertaken in partnership with private sector players, including Metalex and Trasacco.

“This will provide a world-class venue to host major business events and position Kwahu as a leading destination for investment and enterprise development,” he said.

In line with the government’s broader economic agenda, Mahama also announced a suite of incentives under the proposed 24-hour economy policy aimed at supporting businesses willing to operate multiple shifts.

These include duty-free importation of machinery and accelerated port clearance processes to reduce operational bottlenecks and enhance productivity within the industrial sector.
